Description

Stamp with the slogan “Libertad o Muerte”. The phrase appears in Cuban political discourse as an echo of 19th-century independence wars, reused by Castro’s movement before “Patria o Muerte” became the official motto in 1960. I haven’t been able to date this particular piece or trace the context in which it was produced.
