The Black Pirate (1926) is the earliest surviving film shown at Tampa Theatre, screened on its thrird day of operations, Ocotober 17, 1926. For the theater's sixtieth anniversary, in 1986, guests went back to where it all began, The Black Pirate with a functional Wurlitzer and a guest appearance by Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.
