“I’ve been painting and talking since I was three! As the first grand-daughter and a 2nd generation American, I grew up in a large and creative Polish family who encouraged me as they restored a 100 year old house themselves. I watched my Mom paint, sew, sculpt, crochet and bake. My father studied journalism and writing( interrupted by WWII); he transmitted messages for Western Union, became a tool and die maker and used his hands for creative projects at home.
“My pleasure in making and enjoying this painting knows no bounds. Since entering the Art Program, I’ve been encouraged to develop new skills and pursue subjects that I love; this brings a warm feeling to my heart and my creative spirit takes over. More hours in the art room have helped me to gain the confidence to start new projects and experiment with different ways of visualizing painting. This has also fulfilled a lifelong wish of mine to live as an artist creating art each day. My family is delighted in my new found accomplishments. I would wish all people would have a chance like I’ve had.”
