Description

Yue Situ “The Beauty View” SF Senior Center My name is Yue Situ. I was born in 1931, grew up in a warm family. I studied in a boarding school for 12 years. Japan invaded China in 1937. Being refugees for 8 years, I learned how to swim which improved my juvenile physical. During the high school, I won five track and field championships twice. My school was spectacular and had plenty of good teachers. I had the honor to be taught by a famous painter. Under the teacher’s patient guidance, I fell in love with Chinese painting. My work was selected in the school exhibition, which gave me great encouragement. I graduated from Zhongshan Medical University in 1955, When I was busy with my homework, I would draw some pictures in my notebook. I like to take pictures of the beautiful scenery, flowers and trees in the park as my materials. After retiring, I immigrated to the United State for more than 30 years, I continue loving Chinese painting. I have participated in two painting classes and two exhibitions for the elderly. Unfortunately, the painting class has been cancelled for several years. I am lucky enough to participate in a perfect painting class in the SF Senior Center and have the patient teachers to teach. I hope to study hard together with other classmates. I have participated in the SF Senior Center for more than 15 years. My spouse was my classmate in the medical school before. He was a professor of surgery and graduate tutor. The family will continue into the fifth generation of medical families, which are painters and calligraphers too.
