Name/Title

Crescent Pk - Sheila Marrow - Beta

Description

Sheila Marrow is originally from Spokane, Washington. She moved to California when she was just four years old. She is the oldest of eight children, has two sons, and is a grandmother of three. She grew up surrounded by creativity and art as her mom was a well-known painter in Richmond, CA. In high school, her passion was to become a fashion designer. Sheila always had the desire to paint but never picked it up until recently. Colors and music have a calming effect on her. When she creates art, she must be in a certain groove and mindset. The beauty of her drawings comes from how they can be interpreted in different ways by the viewer. Sheila has been involved with Crescent Park for 40 years and reports that it is a wonderful community because it offers not just art classes and other activities, but is a great social outlet for many who are homebound. You could say that Sheila is the “Mayor” of Crescent Park as she has served in many leadership roles and knows everyone. Sheila is always helping her neighbors. She says she grew up taking care of her seven siblings so she’s had a lot of practice helping out. Her words of wisdom: “It’s easier to wear a smile than a frown because frowns create wrinkles” and “If you can get it right at home; you can get it right out there in the streets.”
