Reutlinger Community - Misia Nudler - Memory of my Lost Little TownDescription
“I grew up a happy child with wonderful parents and family; I still miss them dearly. Although I lived through the Holocaust, these memories are still with me and bring out the best in me. Working on this painting was a way to remember my childhood. I looked at maps to find where the town was in the Polish countryside. After this I worked on remembering and sketching locations of important parts of the town: the synagogue, the windmills and watermills, the river and bridge and the house where I was born. I combined these elements and created the design. Although the village wasn’t as colorful as this, I added the colors to bring out my feelings.”
