Xi Fen came to the United States from China in 1996 when her entire family relocated to California. Before emigrating, she recalls a work experience that included a candy factory and a manufacturing company that produced knitted flowers used in clothing decoration.
Throughout her life, Xi Fen has enjoyed helping others. She believes that doing good things for other people is a way to ensure your own happiness.
She’s only been painting now for two years. She discovered her talent at 83. “My Art With Elders class has added some color to my otherwise boring life!” she quips.
Her family is very supportive of this octogenarian. Ten of them accompanied her to the Annual Exhibit Opening Event.
