I am new to painting but not to the arts. I earned an MFA in creative writing at the University of Michigan and have been writing short stories since I was in my 20’s.
“We are transparent When we land on blue, We transform We become blue.”
“I began this painting with a blue background; then, I created rubbings of butterflies in white crayon on transparent paper. The next step was to cut out their silhouettes and arrange them in a design that showed them flying together. When I glued them onto the blue ground, in my eyes, they BECAME BLUE butterflies. Then, they could be seen and known by anyone.”
