Anita was born in northern India and has been in the United States for 36 years. Anita and her husband lived in Washington, D.C. They then moved to California, coming back and forth from India for a number of years. They have 3 children, 1 son and 2 daughters, also living in the U.S.
Anita has been at On Lok Peralta since 2001. She has taken art classes “for years and years,” starting while living in Washington, D.C. Anita shared that “when my children were younger, I never did this. Now I am.” She feels the benefits of being part of an art class are that with doing art “my memory becomes fast, my memory becomes good.” Creating art makes Anita feel “very good, and very busy,” and “there are so many friends” she has made in class.
