“Long Ago and Far Away: A Dreamscape”
Based on Tales my mother told me of her early life in Sarny, Poland, I have depicted in this painting, my vision of her village. Here, people lived a modest, happy life through secure adherence to traditional orthodox laws, under the guidance of their wise and beloved Hasidic Rabbi. The scourge of Naziism destroyed this life throughout Eastern Europe. I dedicate this painting to our families of long ago and far away. May their memory be a blessing.
