The inspiration for “Gerri’s Garden” was a photograph of my sister’s garden; it is a place she loves as a retreat from her daily cares. She cherishes my painting (more than the photograph!) for its spirit and its imperfections which makes it uniquely her sisters work! My gift to her hangs in a prominent place in her home; I enjoyed working on this because it reminded me of French Impressionism which I adore.
