I spent the first nine years of my life on the east coast. Mostly in small towns near Boston, Massachusetts. When we moved to California it was quite a culture shock. Everything was so different. I think the moving contributed to my ability to adjust fairly easily to new circumstances.
I started the Art With Elders program in February 2023 soon after our move to the Carlisle. The class has become a high point in my week. I enjoy looking at and discussing the art with the other participants and the instructor. I’ve been able to get to know people better and make
some new friends.
I used to worry that my painting was not as good as I’d like. But now I’ve learned to relax and enjoy what I’m doing and try to let those creative thoughts flow. I’ve found painting to be a joy that lifts my spirits and sharing the experience with others is even better.
