My name is Jose Alvarado, I am 72 years old from El Salvador. I have been living is this country for the last 51 years. I have 6 children, and 6 grandchildren. I am retired from my job of 48 years at the Grand Hyatt hotel in San Francisco.
This art class have help me to understand and see how a paint or drawing is made, I always was curious about art pieces. I have never taken an art class in my life because I had to focus on work to support myself and my family. I used to work 16 to 20 hours straight daily without a day off. I finally retired in December 2019, and I have plenty of time now to focus on the things I like.
Now that I am taking this art class, I feel good because I am learning how to draw and the techniques. It makes me feel happy and excited to learn new things.
