“Danielle’s House by the River”
Danielle was born in Paris in 1941 and immigrated to the United States in her late twenties. “The beat of my heart,” she says, brought her to San Francisco, where her loved one lived. She worked as a hairdresser and skin care specialist. She has always liked art of all sorts and feels gifted to be able to look at things in an artistic light. After she retired, she started taking art classes at the Palo Alto Senior Center. Danielle’s preferred medium is watercolor. Meticulous and thoughtful in her art, she keeps notes and carefully plans her composition and palette. “Her work is refined,” says her AWE teacher Sarah, “which is a reflection of who she is as a painter.” Danielle says that thanks to her wonderful teachers, she finds her inspiration in the beauty that surrounds her in all areas of life. Her advice: “Persevere and don’t let your fear stop you.”
