Name/Title

Ivy Pk. - Lucia Lamassonne - Flowers

Description

“Ever since I can remember, I was painting.” Lucia has been drawing and painting since she was a small child. When her family moved from Bogota, Columbia to the US, in 1951, her mother introduced her to painting as a way to pass the time. “Paint what you like,” her mother told her. Painting came naturally to her and she received praise and support from her parents, brothers and sister from very early on. Lucia’s mother and father were also creative and ”happy people.” In terms of art, they did what they wanted to do. They passed this idea down to Lucia and they taught her to care about the things that she made. Lucia believes that when someone has a drive to do something, “You must do it! And, you must do it well.”
