Belmont Albany - Kimberly Thompson 'Kbling' - Black Cat Celebration

Description

Kimberly was born in Wyoming and was 6 days old when her family moved to California. She has lived in Sacramento, Fair Oaks and Berkeley. Her father was in the Air Force. Kimberly started taking art classes at the Creative Wellness Center in Berkeley and took some classes in high school. Some things she would like people to know about her: “I love little hearts, the bling, and stickers. I love animals in all their colors.” Kimberly brought out her colorful collection of beads, feathers and mini pom poms, which she calls “the bling.” “I bring humor to everything I do to varying degrees.” Kimberly enjoys meeting people with different personalities, abilities and skills. She enjoys “socializing and seeing what others are creating and seeing what I can come up with. It’s always a mystery.” Creating art makes Kimberly “Happy! My artwork is an expression of fun and good times. I hope it uplifts people, including myself.” One of the benefits of the class is exploring her creativity. Kimberly has also learned about having patience with herself and with others. Being part of a group doing art together feels fun and peaceful. Kimberly mainly works in watercolor and acrylic, but also uses markers and crayons. “I love bright colors. I don’t concern myself with coordinating colors.” Words of wisdom Kimberly shared: “Let it be!” and “I AM ENOUGH! The art class and students remind me I am enough.”
