The rhythmical lines in “The Connected Earth” were created by ‘rubbing’ over string glued onto a board. The linear pattern was originally vertical and came from rubbing over tree bark. I reinterpreted the pattern horizontally with color: when arid dessert was nourished by the sea to develop fertile land and build the mountains, then, the sky produced rain connecting all the earth!
