Lisa was born in 1930 in Busan, the second largest city in South Korea. At that time, Korea was under Japanese government rule.
When she was in school, there were art classes, but students had to sew buttons on Japanese military uniforms instead of learning drawing or painting. Moreover, in the last days of World War II, students were sent to a place to make bullet shells—especially during art class.
After she got married, she attended a community center and learned cloisonné enamel for a short time. She loved it, but in 1980, her family moved to America and she worked hard to support them.
She loves nature, especially flowers, birds, and butterflies.
She is the oldest in the Senior Center art class, but she enjoys drawing and painting very much. She is learning new skills and colors that she never had the chance to learn in her school days.
