A painting friend Derek introduced me to AWE. I started with a Zoom class on Tuesday mornings. Teacher Mei Mei & the participants warmly welcomed me into the group.
A few months later, I attended in-person classes at Mission Neighborhood Center (Wolfsohn campus). One day, maestro Hugh invited class participants to paint on 9 by 12 inch stretched canvases. I remember thinking: "Wow, I have not ever painted on stretched canvas of this size. Alright, I will fill this canvas with something awesome."
Thank you AWE for encouraging me on my art journey. I pay more attention to the world around me. I made new friends. I discovered the fun and challenges of creating art. I learned art supplies may grow like California poppies.
