Hello! My name is Hu Guan Sheng. I came to the United States in 1992 from Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, China. I am currently a participant at On Lok. Since joining On Lok, I’ve taken part in many classes and truly enjoy them. In my free time, I love dancing, drawing, and singing. On Lok has given me the opportunity to explore and discover new hobbies.
I have been participating in the Art With Elders class for about a year now. Through this class, I’ve developed new drawing skills and gained a deeper appreciation and knowledge of art. It has become a fun and fulfilling hobby that enriches my spare time—and I’ve also made many new friends along the way. This class has opened my eyes to see the world through the lens of art. The friendships I’ve built in AWE have allowed us to connect not just through drawing, but also through sharing moments from our everyday lives.
A motto that has guided me through life is: “You never know until you try.”
