I grew up in, and Ron and I raised our family in, San Francisco. As I got older, I had a lot of leisure time to fill, and this is what I decided to do. For my brain, I would do word puzzles and reading. For my body, I would do line dancing and walking. But what to do to develop my creative side?
Enter Art With Elders. For two years I have had the benefit of weekly, online art classes from the convenience of my home. I have learned about other students’ lives; been introduced to a variety of mediums; tried different techniques; and built up my art supplies, including gouache, watercolor pencils, canvases, palette paper, and more. As a result, I have set up a “creative” space in my living room that I can work at whenever the mood strikes—what a luxury!
