Description
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and I have lived in Washington state and Connecticut until I moved to the Towers in 2019 to be closer to my family. I have three children and seven grandchildren to whom I am very close.
I have always been interested in art, but never seemed to be able to devote much time to it, working as a nurse and raising my family and participating in my late husband’s career.
I started with Art With Elders when I moved into the Towers, and have been delighted to have the time, place, materials, and instruction t enjoy experimenting with various media and to develop my skills with excellent instruction and guidance.
Working alongside other artists has been very gratifying. Not only have I made good friends, but there is also a sense of good fellowship and community among those of us who participate in call. We help one another with suggestions and encouragement.
The best words of wisdom that I can offer are, “Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.” I am grateful to Art With Elders for this opportunity and for the joy it brings me.
