Born and raised in Oakland, California, I am a grandmother and a retiree from the City of Oakland. Art became a central part of my life a year ago, and I recently celebrated my birthday alongside my classmates. As the daughter of Vada Pinson Jr., who played for Major League baseball and was a four-time National League All Star, I’ve always appreciated a legacy of dedication.
In my practice, I find peace in learning new techniques, particularly wet-on-wet watercolors. When I’m not at the easel, I love to spend time baking, finding joy in the patience and creativity of the kitchen.
For me, art is about connection—to the medium, to my friends, and to the faith that "God is with me and not against me."
