Pat Flagiello is a native San Franciscan who started participating in the Stonestown YMCA art class one year ago, on the first day it was offered at her location. She loves to paint and says the class has put her back in touch with her creative side. She appreciates the clear instructions, thoughtful demonstrations, and projects that build on learned techniques—as well as the help from their engaging and patient instructor Sergio.
Pat enjoys meeting like-minded people who are also looking for connection and joy. Creating art makes her feel connected to an inner peace. She’s learned that watercolor is a more patient painting discipline, and looks forward to seeing her classmates each week. “There is this special camaraderie and trust,” she says. “We all learn and share something from our companions on life’s journey.”
Her words of wisdom: “Treat others as you wish to be treated,” and “My advice to you is not to take anyone’s advice.”
