One of the Last remaining examples of Eatonville's local newspaper, this issue of the "Eatonville Speaker" shows the town's voice in municipal affairs. Published in June 1889, the front page features an article which implores new settlers to join the all-black community and to "solve the race problems of the day." This volume also details the origins of Joseph Clark's dream and how the first incorporated black township came to be.
