Although Andre Smith designed the majority of the concrete reliefs and the Research Studio, he still required assistance from his most trusted friends. Along with the Bancas, Ralph Ponder, an artist himself, was instrumental in the construction of much of the fantasy architecture found at the Research Studio, and frequently executed the carving and installation of Andre Smith's concrete designs using the carving tools here.
