Description

In the 1970s, K2 made several lines of skis with red, white, and blue top sheets. They all became a cult item and were associated with "hot dogging," the crazy predecessor to the freestyle competitions that are so much more orderly and organized. Hot dogging was about getting down moguls at such speeds that if you were in full control, you were not fast enough. As a result, spectacular falls were a feature (not a bug) as long as you did not stop and had a spectacular recovery. This was a high-spirited discipline not for the faint of heart.
