Description

Henke is the inventor of the ski boot buckle. Here is the Last Henke double-lace boot. In the early 1950s, double-laced boots were the gold standard until the buckle appeared on the market. Even then, many users of double-laced boots would remain loyal to a solution they felt offered a more precise fit than buckles that took about a decade to gain wide acceptance. Putting on double-laced boots took a fair amount of time, so when Henke was marketing the buckle boot, the slogan was, "Are you lacing while we are racing?".
