Splitkein - Flexible Flyer ad from the 1920s when these two companies started to collaborate in their marketing efforts. Splitkein was a revolution in ski manufacturing as it introduced laminations to the mass market. Up until then, and since the Stone Age, skis had been made from a solid piece of wood. Because Splitkein skis used a combination of multiple wood strips and laminations, skis became more solid, warping and splitting were significantly reduced, and lamination also made it easier to make a more durable camber.
