Collecting COVID StoriesDescription
Grand Rapids Public Museum
Grand Rapids, MI
The COVID-19 pandemic will go down in history as a significant event of the 21st century. During this health crisis, the GRPM launched its community documentation project in April 2020 to collect local stories and artifacts about COVID-19 pandemic. The Museum encouraged community members to reflect and share their stories through digital submissions, videos, photos, objects and more to express how COVID-19 has impacted them individually, their families and community.
The GRPM continues to collect COVID stories, and currently has over 300 submissions. The Museum hopes to continue collecting a variety of stories from community members to accurately portray what life was truly like during the pandemic, while also creating an archive for future generations to remember this time.
