Description

Grand Rapids Public Museum Grand Rapids, MI The Museum has made great strides to offer affordable experiences to the community as well as educators. The Museum made the decision to take its popular summer Camp Curious programs completely virtual, due to the unpredictable health climate. Virtual Camp Curious included 50 camp offerings for kids ages pre-K through 9th grade, focusing on science, history, culture and art. Over 200 students successfully completed the program this summer and the GRPM education team received phenomenal feedback from parents. “My girls loved the program. It was incredibly well put together and they learned so much. The activities were both engaging and educational.” - Virtual Camp Curious parent, Space: The Final Frontier Ages 1-3 As for educator resources, the GRPM has recently created new distant learning materials that include interactive programs led by Museum educators. These programs bring social studies and science standards to life using artifacts, exhibit content, engaging prompts and other educational activities.
