Description
Putnam Museum and Science Center
Davenport, IA
The Year 2020 will be talked about for generations to come. In addition to the pandemic the year brought economic crisis, racial injustice, social unrest, unprecedented weather phenomena, and political divide during an extraordinary election… but we also saw stories of incredible strength and we built a new bridge over the Mississippi. As the Quad Cities’ Smithsonian Affiliate, we reached out to our community through social media and email communication asking for help in documenting this time in our history.
Community members could participate in a variety of ways including a survey, donating their journal, contributing photos, or being interviewed.
The Putnam Museum will induct this important content into its collection and archive to preserve
it for future generations for research and for display and education, including anniversary commemoration.
