Entry/Object ID

Description

Built by the UK-based Tangerine Computer Systems from 1984-1985 as a cheaper competitor to microcomputers like the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum, the Atmos never sold as well as those devices but did attract a strong following in Europe, especially France. While the Atmos can display 8 colours on screen at once, the screen is divided into small tiles that can only use 2 colours each. This gives Oric games a distinctive “8-bit” appearance similar to the Spectrum and NES. CPU : 1MHz 6502 (8-bit) RAM : 16KB or 48KB Media : Audio Tape, 3-inch Floppy Drive (option) Graphics : 240 x 200 pixels, 8 colours, TV RF output Incudes UK power supply, 3-inch disc drive (untested) and Erebus flash card adapter.
