The book documents the first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by the USN amphibious aircraft NC-4 in May 1919. The aircraft was commanded by Lyme, NH native Albert Cushing Read who graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1907 and eventually reached the rank of Rear Admiral. He and the rest of the flight crew were awarded Congressional Gold Medals in 1929.Acquisition
