pg 50, 52 Arrow Aftermath - reports that France had expressed interest in buying 300 Iroquois engines from Orenda Engines Ltd. around the time of Arrow project cancellation. Reports of this interests to the Federal Government got no response. The deal could have saved the Arrow project. Story includes Fred T. Smye, Howard Green then acting Defence Production Minister, Paul Davoud then Orenda VP for sales, D.L. Thompson, director of the DDP's aircraft branch, J.A. Morley, VP for sales. Page 53 CARL Absorbs Phoenix - A. V. Roe Canada Ltd. merged Canadian Applied Research Ltd. and Phoenix Engineered Products Ltd. Into a single corporate entity which will continue in the name of CARL.
