pg 27 Offence cheaper than defence - story covers different technologies used by air forces and includes statement about the Bomarc being devised in 1949 but got into sqn service at the end of 1960 and was never effective even when brand new because the state of the art of bomber attack had overtaken it before it could be made ready. For the same reason our own Avro Arrow was abandoned before it became operational.Category
