Pgs 20-32 (not complete) - News item - CF-100/4 - This latest version of the Cf-100 powered by series 9 Orenda engines is being quantity produced by AVRO Canada at the rate of about 1 per day. About 600 Mk.4's are on order. - CF-105 - The Government has ordered the design and construction of a prototype of a big all weather delta fighter to be successor to the the CF-100. - Orenda- Over 1,000 Orendas have now been delivered with the series 9 and 10 each being rated at 6,500 pounds being the models in production. Series 11 at 7.500 pounds has been developed and work continues on higher powered versions. - "Waconda" seens to be the commonly known name for the existance of a new turbjet design undertaken by Avro Canada (Iroquois). Industry reports indicate it is in the design stage and that a prototype will be running within a year. Design engineers are aiming at a thrust of 18-20,000 pounds. - The newest design project at Avro is the CF-105 successor to the CF-100 by 1958-59, will utilise a delta wing design, target speed is 1,200 mph, design weight at 68,000 pounds and range of 1,500 miles. pg 26 has "Fighter of the Future" with a short article about the design of the CF-105. At the time Avro Canada was given the go-ahead on CF-105 no engine choice has been made. "Place in the Sun" - The respect with which Avro Canada is regarded by the parent Hawker Siddeley Group when it selected Avro Canada as the location of the Group's Design Council.General Notes
