Graduated from University of Toronto in 1941 and was with the was formerly with the aircraft division of Massey-Harris (Chief Aircraft Engineer) and the engineering faculty of the U of T when hired by A. V. Roe in 1947. Outside of work, he was involved with aviation and in 1951 was elected president of Soaring Association of Canada and was also Treasurer of the Toronto Section of the Institute of Aeronautical Sciences. He held many management and executive positions at AVRO and related companies, including being Vice President of Hawker Siddeley Canada in 1962.
