Started with Avro in 1947. Worked in the Gas Turbine Division as equipment engineer 1950, as Mechanical Development Engineer 1952, as Engineer in Charge 1953 and as Test Equipment Design Supervisor 1953 - left position to work in Nobel in 1954 as a Chief, Technical Services, and became Engineer in Charge (Manager) - Nobel in 1956. Shown in Office Building photo 1958. Engineer-in-Charge Prepared report entitled on Discussion and Cost Analysis to Purchase 2 Potential Missile Test Firing Sites 1958. Received his 10 year award while at Research Station Nobel. After the Arrow cancellation, a newspaper story (see object 2953) listed "Jack Armstrong" as the Orenda manager for Nobel (no other reference to him going by Jack has been found). Worked in the Experimental Engineering Department in 1959 as an Engineer in Charge - Nobel, and authored wrote the book HISTORY OF THE ORENDA TEST ESTABLISHMENT AT NOBEL in 1991.
