Born in 1915 in England, was with de Havilland during the war years and moved to Canada in 1947 to join Avro Canada on 14 Jun 1947. Frost took over as Project Designer on the XC-100 (Canuck). in 1950, Frost was in the back seat of the Canuck prototype flown by Bill Waterton, wanting to get feal for aircraft and its systems, he even ejected from a CF-100. After leaving the CF-100 team he moved to the Special Projects Group where he dreamt up Avrocar concept in 1952. He started working on the Project Y, Weapons System 606A and VZ-9-AV, as the Avrocar failed to become what was expected the funding was pulled and the project wrapped up March 1961. After leaving Avro in 1961, Frost moved to New Zealand where he was Managing Director Fletcher Holdings in NZ - 1962, then worked for the Civil Aviation Authority before joining Air New Zealand as a technical services engineer where he stayed for 13 years until he retired in 1978 - a year later he died from a heart attack on 9 Oct 1979.
