Born 14 Oct 1920 and passed away 2 Mar 1996. Turbo Research Ltd. employee with prior experince with Power Jets Limited and English Electric Company. Aerodynamicist protégé of Frank Whittle 1946. He obtained his master's degree from Cambridge in 1946. Hired from the UK by Winnett Boyd to work in the Gas Turbine Division as an Aerodynamicist 1946, reporting to Charles Grinyer. Involved in TR-4 Chinook engine, first engine designed and built in Cananda 1948. He worked on the Chinook, Orenda and Iroquois. Chairman CAI (Canadian Aeronautical Institute) 1955. Acknowledged by Roy Dobson at 10th anniversary dinner in 1955. Listed on a 1956 Nobel org chart as the Deputy Chief Engineer. Promoted from Assistant Chief Engineer to Chief Engineer in 1957. Stayed with Orenda until 1979. After the Arrow and Iroquois cancellations he was Chief Engineer Dept 2000 (VP & Chief Enginner's Dept) until summer 1959 when Charles Grinyer resigned and he became Technical Director then Research Director and work also included work on the OT4/AGT600 truck and tank engine in 1967. Leaves Orenda Nov 17, 1967. Voters list (found via Ancestry.ca) showed him living in the Peel riding. Attended Avro Arrow reunion, International Centre, Malton March 26, 1983
