Hired into the newly created role of General Manager of the Gas Turbine Division working on the Orenda Engine 1951, he joined Avro from the Allison Division of General Motors Corp where he was the assistant director of engineering since Jan/1947 - he joined Allison in 1939 and held assorted role. After two years he resigned and returned to the Allison Division of GMC.
