This certificate appointed a Margarett Elizabeth Zinn to Second Lieutenant. She would have been enlisted in the WACs, or Women's Army Corps. Notice that the appointment is preprinted to say "Him and He" leaving it only open to men during the era. This is from 1947, post WWII.
