Scope and Content

A small green covered album with a metal bracket on the end that reads "Album Prints- The Camera Shop 215 Marine Ave. Balboa Island, California" on the front. The photographs were printed in May of 1957 and are all from inside or around the Village Inn (then White's Cafe). The space appears to be in the process of either renovation or construction.

The man is leaning on the load, which is positions on a large semi parked at the stop sign in front of the Village Inn (the Little Island Bridge is visible in the background along with a rather notable house).

A photograph of three men wandering around inside White's Café.; The room appears unfinished win no seating visible. The walls are decorated with murals of maps and sailing ships, Old brass lamps are hanging from the ceiling. One of the men in the photograph might be Virgil Partch (the first man in the group holding a beer).

A photograph of two men ben forward with their hands gripping the stool a woman is sitting on. Another woman, presumably an associate, is looking on in amusement. There is a third man behind one of the first two men who might be tripping the back of the stool as his legs are braced like he intend to move something. They are seated at a bar.

A huge hole in the wall along the back reveals support bracing and the Market Spot sign can be seen through the hole, confirming this is White's Cafe. The party also appears to be a private one based on the number of various people who have been seen behind the bar. In this photograph, the man who resembles Virgil Partch is behind the bar. There are three women and five men drinking around the side of the bar.
