A color photograph postcard of the docks to the right of the ferry landing where boats can be rented from. Looking towards South Bay Front and the ferry landing on Balboa Island. One of the ferry's is visible heading towards the Island. There are three canoes on the dock, two red and one green. The docks are now part of Balboa Boat Rentals. Sent on July 3, 1959 at 5:30 pm from Long Beach. It was sent to Dr. & Mrs. M. R. Gordon in San Francisco by Gladys. There is a small blurb on the back about Balboa Island and Balboa Bay written by Merle Porter. Published by Royal Pictures. Postcard number B482, Printer number S17095. Stamp cancel reads "Use Zone Nos. For Better Mail Service"- likely an encouragement for people to use zip codes when addressing mail.
