World Record Swordfish Caught at Balboa, CaliforniaEntry/Object ID
BIM2020.005.282Description
A colorized photograph postcard of a man and three women beside a huge swordfish caught in 1931 by postmaster Alfonse Hamann, which held a world record at one point. White border with the title along the top and the postcard number in the bottom right corner. The man who caught the fish was so proud, he had several postcards made up about the event. It is unclear if this is one of those postcards or a reprint from a later date.
Sent on August 21, 1934 from Balboa to Marshalltown, Iowa. Sent to Miss Valeria Vecera from Sophia.
