Two copies of a colorized photograph postcard of four people looking down at the China house from the stairs above. There are beachgoers to the right on the beach in front of the Kerckhoff Marine Laboratory. White/cream border with the title on the top right corner and the print number in the bottom right corner. one unused and one sent. Sent card mailed on Balboa Island on July 5, 1944, at 4:30 PM to Moscow, Idaho. Mailed to A. C. A. from Mabel. Postcard printed by Curteich-Chicago. Linen print. Print number OB-H853. There is a yellow tag glued to the sent card with the number "853" written on it in pen. The "H" indicates the postcard was printed from a black and white photograph using a five-color process onto linen stock.

Sally, Emmet is in France. Hello Everyone.- In words familiar to A. C. A. This is to advise that I will be a little late getting back on the job. Can't get back to Portland until the 8th and after a few days, will be back in Moscow, possibly Tues or Wed. This Chinese house is about 1 1/2 Mi down the bay from our cottage on Balboa.
