Description

A color photograph taken from across Balboa Bay from little island. The photograph looks toward the bridge to Balboa Island and down the bay towards Collins and Harbor Island. Some of Little Island is also visible. White letters spell out Balboa Island, California along the top. Two copies, neither used. The postcards were printed different years by different printers. One was by Dexter, Inc and the other was by H. S. Crocker Co., Inc. Both cards were published by Golden West. The photograph is by George Elton Watson, though that is only noted on one copy of the card. Postcard number GW 313-A. Print number 44923-B (Dexter Print number). There is a blurb in the upper left hand corner of both cards. It is identical between the cards except that one has the title "Balboa Island, California" and the other uses the first four words of the paragraph, "The Marine Avenue Bridge" as a pseudo title. The Dexter, Inc print is slightly blurry while the H. S. Crocker print is very clear. However, the Crocker print has faded where the Dexter print has not.
