Four copies of a color postcard of the flight of the snowbirds. Most of the sails are white but there is one red and one blue in the group. The words "Greetings From Newport Harbor" are printed across the top in red cursive. All four postcards have the same image on the front. One has no title, two have "Greetings from Newport Harbor" and one has "Flight of the "Snowbirds" as the front titles.
All four have the same blurb on the back. Two of the postcards were done by Golden West with H. S. Crocker as the printer and two were done by Mitock & Sons with Colourpictures as the printer. The photographer for all four was George Elton Watson, though he's only cited on two of the cards. The Golden West postcard number is GW-348 and the Mitock & Sons number (likely a print number) is P14987. One of the two Golden West postcards was converted into a Rotary Club special postcard.
the postcard converted for Rotary club use is the only one sent It was returned with the error "No Such Street Number". It was the only postcard used of the four, the remainder were blank. The Rotary club card used a 3 cent purple liberty stamp with a "pray for Peace" cancel. It was addressed to the Rotary Secretary of the Anaheim Rotary Club or Elks Club on Spodra[?] Road in Anaheim, California. It says they welcomed visitor Fred Rohe [?] on an aircraft on 8/25/1959. The postcard was sent by the Newport-Balboa Rotary Club from the address of Jerrel T. Richards at 209 Via Mentone, Lido Isle, Newport Beach, California.
