Postcard, Picture of Balboa IslandEntry/Object ID
2016.83.12Description
Postcard photograph of Little Island. The cars suggest the photo was taken in the 1950s or 1960s.
The back reads: Entrance to Balboa Bay. One of California's finest yacht harbors, this spacious land-locked bay and its lovely island aras, constitutes one of the most attractive recreational localities in Southern California. Residential structures of stucco, in the california-Riveria stype, predominate at Balboa, Balboa Island, Lido Island, and Corona Del Mar, where they look out on hundreds of yachts and pleasure craft at their moorings. The pleasure craft fleet here is one of the largest on the Pacific Coast. The harbor's Yacht Regatta and the Flight of the Snowbirds are outstanding events.- R.D.
